Shannon Beador asks for forgiveness after drunken incident in emotional ‘RHOC’ premiere preview

The reality star spoke to her daughters about her drunk driving arrest in the preview of season 18 of “Real Housewives of Orange County.”

In a preview of the upcoming season 18 premiere of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” on Bravo, 60-year-old Shannon Beador, along with her daughters Stella, Adeline and Sophie, grapple with the aftermath of her 2023 drunken driving arrest.

Shannon expressed her deep regret for missing an important moment like dropping Stella off at college and apologized for her actions that led to her arrest.

“I was planning to visit you, but because of my mistakes I couldn’t come,” she confessed to Stella tearfully. “I’m so sorry and I feel humiliated, and I’ve disappointed you.”

Reflecting on her age, Shannon asked herself, “What kind of role model am I at 59?” Her daughter Stella reassured her, stressing that they were relieved that no one was hurt and advising Shannon to take responsibility and learn from her mistakes.

In describing the incident that led to her arrest, Shannon recounted a heated argument with her ex, John Jansen. She claims he criticized her before she left and they clashed afterward.

“I had an accident seconds later because I revved the engine so he could see how angry I was and I immediately lost control of the car,” she explained.

According to PEOPLE, Shannon was arrested at 1:17 a.m. in September 2023 following a hit-and-run crash involving property damage in Newport Beach.

Newport Beach police charged her with drunken driving and hit-and-run and released her on a summons. TMZ reported that she was found by police walking her dog after allegedly abandoning her vehicle on the street.

Shannon’s attorney Michael L. Fell expressed her remorse and willingness to accept responsibility: “She is deeply apologetic and remorseful.”
