Accident in Bellevue: Tragedy narrowly avoided

For reasons that are still unclear, an accident involving three light vehicles occurred on the Bellevue straight on Friday, June 28th, at around 9 p.m. The accident report mentions two injured people, an 18-year-old young man and a 16-year-old girl in critical condition.
The three-vehicle crash on Friday evening could have had much more dramatic consequences. In fact, one of the passengers, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was literally thrown from one of the vehicles involved. The seriously injured victim was evacuated to the Louis-Constant Fleming Hospital Center.
The exact circumstances of the accident are currently being investigated. The accident clearly shows how useful it is to wear a seat belt. The gendarmerie will increase checks and fines because too many road users fail to wear their seat belts. “The seat belt saves lives, so let’s wear it,” the gendarmes remind us tirelessly. _AF
