Cottondale man hit and killed in Tuscaloosa

A new report found that traffic fatalities in New York increased in 2021

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (WIAT) – Tuscaloosa police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed Friday night.

According to TPD, John Bigham, 47, of Cottondale was struck by an oncoming vehicle while crossing University Boulevard at the 23rd Avenue crosswalk around 11:30 p.m.


He was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa and later to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries Monday morning.

The TPD homicide squad is investigating.
