Drones attacked the Novolipetsk metallurgical plant

Drones attacked the Novolipetsk metallurgical plant in the Russian city of Lipetsk.

Russian media began to spread information and details about the attack.

According to Russian media reports, the plant was attacked at around 2 a.m. on June 28, 2024.

A total of seven drones are said to have hit targets on the factory premises.

According to media reports, one of the drones damaged the oxygen separation plant, and four other attack drones allegedly hit the oxygen station building.

A garage on the factory premises was also damaged. So far, no injuries or deaths have been reported.

It should be noted that this is not the first attack on the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, which is the largest steel plant in Russia and the 17th largest in the world in terms of production volume.

In February 2024, the governor of the Lipetsk region, Igor Artamonov, reported an outbreak “in one of the workshops” of the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant.

Authorities initially believed the fire had been set by factory workers, but later claimed the fire was caused by the crash of two downed drones.

At the same time, residents of the region reported hearing explosions near Lipetsk at night from the direction of a steel plant, preceded by a roar in the sky.

Militarnyi had previously reported that a drone had attacked an oil depot in Russia’s Tambov region and caused a fire.

The incident occurred in the early morning of June 28, 2024, and was declared by city officials to be a “small fire” that was quickly located with the help of eleven fire crews.
