Pocso case: Man sentenced to 20 years in prison in Pocso case for raping 6-year-old girl | Visakhapatnam News

Visakhapatnam: A special Pocso court in Vizag sentenced a man to 20 years imprisonment for raping a six-year-old girl in 2021. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the convict. The verdict was passed under sections 376 (A) (B) of the IPC and sections 8 and 5 (m) read with 6 of the Pocso Act. Police said that the convict was the victim’s neighbour. On July 1, 2021, he took the girl to his house and dropped her at her place later in the evening. While using the toilet, the girl complained of pain to her mother and narrated the incident. Following this, the victim’s parents filed a complaint against their neighbour. Police registered a case.TNN
