One dead, two hospitalized after two-vehicle crash in Brown County on STH 57

SCOTT, Wis. (WFRV) – A 49-year-old Brown County man was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on STH 57 in Brown County Thursday afternoon, with two other people, including an Arizona man, hospitalized.

According to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle crash on northbound STH 57 at Gerzek Road in the town of Scott just before 12:20 p.m. on June 27.


A preliminary investigation revealed that a car, driven by a 49-year-old Scott man, was traveling south on STH 57 when he was reportedly struck by a northbound vehicle while attempting to turn left onto Gersek Road.

The 49-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the northbound vehicle, a 65-year-old man from Arizona, and his 60-year-old passenger were taken to a local hospital for further treatment.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit assisted at the scene. Both the northbound and southbound lanes were closed and have since reopened.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing and no further details will be released.
