Two dogs dead, person taken to hospital after house fire in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Two dogs died and one person was hospitalized following a house fire Sunday in Henrico County.

On Sunday, June 23, at approximately 2:40 p.m., the Henrico County Division Fire Department was called to the 1500 block of Timbercrest Court for a report of a structure fire.


According to a Henrico Fire Department spokesman, emergency crews arrived on scene within six minutes and immediately began extinguishing the fire.

A resident of the house was taken to the hospital for treatment for heat and smoke exposure, and a firefighter was assessed on site for exposure to the outside temperatures.

According to authorities, two dogs died in the house.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. According to the spokesperson, Henrico Fire will have rotating crews on site due to the intense heat outside.
