Crowley woman arrested for manslaughter after April accident

CROWLEY, Louisiana – Crowley Police Chief Troy Hebert announced that an arrest has been made in connection with a fatal car crash in April.

According to Chief Hebert, on April 26, 2024, Crowley Police responded to a two-vehicle crash that resulted in one fatality at the corner of Jacobs Avenue and 6th Street.

Chief Hebert reported that a Ford Expedition was traveling eastbound on 6th Street when a white sedan failed to stop at the stop sign at the corner of Jacobs Avenue and 6th Street. The white sedan was then struck from the side by the Expedition on the driver’s side.

As a result of the investigation into the incident, an arrest warrant was obtained for Rashonda Wentworth of Crowley for involuntary manslaughter, officials report. Wentworth was arrested on June 20, 2024 and booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on $75,000.00 bail.
