Buffalo Rumblings Weekend Chat: Share Your Bills Fandom History

Welcome to our weekend discussion, Buffalo Bills fans.

This week, it’s you who speaks again!

We want to know some of the names and faces we interact with all the time. We’re going to post these as fan profiles during the slower times this offseason when it’s just us diehards here. Don’t feel obligated, but it would be cool if you filled it out.

Here is the link to fill out the form, and you can see the questions that are in the survey below along with my responses.

Tell us about yourself and where you are from:

I’m from Batavia and after growing up in the Super Bowl era, I went through the playoff drought in college alone before finding Buffalo Rumblings during Panda Watch. I joined the team after the 2011 season, eventually becoming site manager, and accepted a full-time job at Vox Media in 2022 where I help oversee the NFL’s 32 blogs and work with national coverage of SBNation.com.

I still live in Batavia with a wife, two children and a dog.

How and why did you become a Bills fan?

Like I said above, I grew up while the Bills went to the Super Bowl every year. I was 7 when they were in Miami for Super Bowl XXV and 12 before I lost a playoff game that wasn’t in the Super Bowl. Between all the adults hyped up for Bills fever and the fact that they were actually really fun to watch, I was such an easy target.

Who is your favorite Bills player of all time? For what?

I always liked Thurman Thomas because of his versatility, but my build and physique always led me to tight ends. I always liked it when they involved Pete Metzelaars and Jay Riemersma. Thurman wins, sure, but these guys needed some love.

Who is your favorite Bills player currently on the team? For what?

It’s really hard to tell someone not named Josh Allen, isn’t it? Continuing the trend from my youth, I have such high hopes for Dalton Kincaid that it’s almost unfair, and Dawson Knox is a fun guy to root for. Matt Milano is another undervalued player who needs to be recognized.

What is your favorite moment in Bills history? For what?

This is very easily the Greatest Comeback game. I’ve told this story before on the site, but it’s also one of my favorite memories with my dad and brother. The game wasn’t on local television, so we broadcast it on the radio and cleaned the basement. Dad finally turned the game into music after the team was destroyed, but Mom kept the game upstairs. I went upstairs to take a break or something and heard the Bills were coming back, so we took it back to the basement, celebrating all the way to victory.
