Police respond to unexploded ammunition in York County

Police respond after construction workers find unexploded ordnance in York County Monday night. According to 911 dispatch, officers with the Northern York County Regional Police Department responded to the 5000 block of Lewisberry Road in Conewago Township around 5:15 p.m. A construction worker initially found the item, according to the Northern York County Regional Police Department. Officers and members of the Strinestown Community Fire Company 26 secured the scene until the ordnance could be safely removed by the Pennsylvania State Police Ordnance Disposal Unit.

According to the Northern York County Regional Police Department, the item was originally found by a construction crew.

Officers and members of the Strinestown Community Fire Company 26 secured the scene until the grenade could be safely removed by the Pennsylvania State Police Weapons Disposal Unit.
