37-year-old woman killed in crash on AC Expressway – NBC10 Philadelphia

New Jersey State Police are investigating after a woman was killed in a traffic accident on the Atlantic City Turnpike on Saturday evening.

According to police officials, on Saturday, June 16, at approximately 10:32 p.m., troopers responded to a car crash near mile marker 38.3 westbound in Winslow Township in Camden County.

In this incident, authorities said, a Nissan SUV traveling westbound on the Atlantic City Expressway collided with an unoccupied, broken-down Honda vehicle on the right shoulder.

The impact caused the Nissan to roll over and the driver – Ashley Pitts, 37, of Camden, New Jersey – was ejected from the vehicle, authorities said.

New Jersey State Police said Pitts died from injuries she sustained in the accident.

The incident is still under investigation, officials said.
