Chris Brown got stuck at a concert this week. The “With You” singer was floating in the sky mid-song after the wires holding him up stopped working.

Chris Brown remains suspended from concert

During a performance at the Prudential Center in New Jersey as part of his recently launched 11:11 tour, Brown, 35, walked a tightrope across the stage while performing his 2022 song “Under The Influence.” The Grammy winner paused during his performance of the song, but fans in the audience didn’t seem to notice at first as he continued singing.

After a few seconds, he looks to the side and extends his arms a few times to signal someone to help him. Despite appearing visibly upset, Brown continued the show without interruption. Crew members are then seen bringing a ladder to him, where he is frozen in place and stuck to the harness.

As he freed himself from the harness, a staff member climbed up the ladder to help him, but Brown didn’t seem to welcome the help. He freed himself, climbed down a few steps, and then jumped the rest of the way down to finish his performance. Brown walks up behind one of the tour staff members, yells something in his direction, points at him, and then turns to face the audience to finish the song.

Fans who saw Chris Brown’s reaction took to X (formerly Twitter) to express mixed feelings about the way he handled the disruption. One person wrote, “He has every right to be mad, it could have been dangerous. No one bothered to get him when he was stuck for 3 songs until he signaled them and then when they went to get him they ran the ladder in circles twice before they actually got him. Yet he didn’t miss a note!” Another asked, “We’re supposed to believe he’s a changed person who doesn’t have anger issues when he can’t even laugh at a technical difficulty?” A third said, “Yeah he needs to leave that out of the show. Also the ladder kicked me OUT (laughing emojis). Glad he’s cool though.” Another added, “He was about to freak out!!! Body language maxed out MAD (whiny smile emoji, person gesturing OK emoji).”

One fan defended his reaction, commenting: “He has every right to be angry, it could have been dangerous. No one bothered to get him when he was stuck for three songs until he signaled them and then when they came to get him they ran the ladder in circles twice before they actually caught him. Yet he didn’t miss a note!” A second applauded him, writing: “He handled it very professionally and casually cursed out the stagehand (laughing emoji).” Another fan added: “Chris Brown can entertain anytime, anywhere, even when there is a glitch. He is amazing!” Another fan said: “Chris Brown was stuck in the air for two whole songs and never once stopped singing, a true artist if you ask me. He was mad but didn’t ruin anyone’s experience.”
