Teenage girl removed from Clayton HOA community pool, rushed to hospital, later dies, Harris County sheriff says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A teenage girl died at the hospital after being pulled from a community pool in western Harris County unresponsive, according to the sheriff.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said his units responded to a possible drowning at 3705 Green Crest Drive, near Westpark Drive, in the Clayton neighborhood on Wednesday at 5:05 p.m.

The address points to the Clayton Homeowners’ Association clubhouse.

The sheriff said the girl, who could be 15 years old, was hospitalized in critical condition, but in an update around 9 p.m., Gonzalez said the teen had been pronounced dead.

Deputies have not said whether the incident was accidental.
