Nine people arrested in three vehicle theft incidents overnight

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Air 1 and the Buffalo Police Department apprehended nine subjects in three separate stolen vehicle incidents overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office said.

Air 1 was conducting routine training and patrol flights over Erie County when Buffalo police asked it three times to help track down stolen vehicles seen by area patrol units.


See details of each incident below, according to the sheriff’s office:

  • 124 Maple Ridge: A vehicle stolen from Buffalo was located and recovered. Two of the three individuals who were in the vehicle were arrested.
  • Oakmont Avenue and Suffolk Street: A vehicle stolen from the Town of Tonawanda was located and recovered. Three subjects were apprehended.
  • 177 Military Road: A vehicle stolen from Buffalo was located and recovered. Four subjects were apprehended.
