Two dead found in Granite City home on Saturday

An 88-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

GRANITE CITY, Illinois – Police are investigating after two people were found dead in a home in Granite City, Illinois on Saturday.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a 911 call in the 1000 block of Bruns Road around 3 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found the residents of the home dead, police said. An 88-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene by the Madison County Coroner’s Office.

The identities of the victims had not been released as of Sunday evening.

According to the police, it is obviously a murder-suicide and there is no danger to the public.

The investigation is ongoing.
