SPD ACTIVELY INVESTIGATING HIT-AND-RUN CASE – KQEN News Radio

Sutherlin Police are currently investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred Friday evening.

Captain Kurt Sorenson said at 9:50 p.m., a 20-year-old Sutherlin resident was jogging in the 500 block of West Central Avenue. Sorenson said he was struck by a car at the intersection of Central and Oak streets. The man was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to CHI Mercy Medical Center. Sorenson said the man was released Saturday with non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle that struck the jogger did not stop to render aid and quickly left the scene. Sorenson said police are working to identify the vehicle and its occupants. The investigation is ongoing
