1 dead and 1 injured in shooting in Gaston County

GASTON COUNTY, NC (WBTV) – One person was killed and another injured in a shooting in a Gaston County neighborhood Friday night.

The Gaston County Police Department said the shooting occurred around 10 p.m. in the area of ​​Pine Street and Shamrock Road, just off Hickory Grove Road.

At the scene, officers found two people with gunshot wounds. Both people were taken to the hospital, where one died and the other is in stable condition.

Police said everyone involved in the incident had been identified and there was no danger to the public.

The circumstances that led to the shooting are still unclear.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the person killed.

As the investigation continues, police are working with the Gaston County District Attorney’s Office.
