CHICAGO (WLS) — Five Chicago police officers and one civilian were injured in an accident on the South Side Thursday evening, officials said

Chicago police said that shortly before 7:15 p.m., a marked patrol car traveling east on 63rd Street collided with an unmarked CPD patrol car traveling south on Racine in the Englewood neighborhood. The marked patrol car then collided with a Cadillac traveling north on Racine.

One of the Chicago Fire Department officers was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious to life-threatening condition. The other four officers were taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition.

According to the fire department, the injured civilians were a woman and a pedestrian; they were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.

Chicago police said the driver of the Cadillac refused medical attention at the scene of the accident. Police said none of the injuries were life-threatening.
