MAX launches 7-day free trial for new customers

Max, HBO’s paid streaming service, is offering a rare free trial that lasts for a full week. However, during that week, you would have access to several high-profile sporting events and the platform’s extensive content offering, including exclusive shows and movies. Soccer fans would also be able to watch two matches of the United States men’s national team. It’s the perfect time ahead of the 2024 Copa America.

Normally, Max costs $9.99 per month. Alternatively, you can choose the annual option for $99. That’s a bit more expensive than other platforms like Paramount+ or Peacock. However, it’s comparable to ESPN+, which focuses on sports content. Max’s argument for why it costs so much lies in its content library. There are over 2,000 movies and 1,300 TV shows. While few will be able to watch all of that content, there’s surely something to please everyone in the household.

There’s no better time than now to experience it. Max offers content that includes the National Hockey League, the National Basketball Association, various soccer leagues, and other live content. Unfortunately, most of it will be discontinued in the summer. ESPN covers both the NHL’s Stanley Cup Finals and the NBA Finals. Max has previously aired broadcasts of both leagues’ playoffs. Soccer, however, is still available. Here’s how to take advantage of Max’s free trial.

You won’t be charged until your week-long trial of Max ends, so if you’re not interested in paying for an actual subscription, consider canceling it after your week-long trial on the platform. However, chances are you’ll enjoy Max’s content. Even if you’re focused on sports, there are documentary series you can watch while the live content may not be in full swing.

Watch football on Max

Of course, there’s also live content to watch during your free trial. Warner Bros. Discovery owns the rights to the U.S. men’s and women’s national teams. Friendlies and select competitions like the SheBelieves Cup air on Max, and broadcasts are also available on TV via TNT. As the USMNT prepares for the Copa America later this month, Gregg Berhalter’s side has two friendlies against top opponents.

On Saturday, June 8, the U.S. will face Colombia at 5:30 p.m. ET. Four days later, the USMNT will face Brazil, arguably the favorite to win the Copa America in the U.S. this summer. Although both games are available on TNT, Telemundo and Universo, fans in the U.S. can stream them on Max.

If you’re looking for live content in the future, the USWNT has a friendly against the Mexico women’s national team in July, but this isn’t available in any free trial, even if you start it on June 23rd.
