Cohoes police arrest man and woman on drug charges

COHOES, NY (NEWS10)– Police arrested a Cohoes man and woman on Thursday for possession of crack cocaine. Shakema Tune, 43, and James Austin, 44, were arrested after executing a search warrant at a residence at 85 Mohawk Street in Cohoes.

Police said they found 17 bags of 180 grams of crack cocaine and a scale in the apartment. Both are charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of narcotics.

Austin was arraigned, has two convictions of three violent crimes, and is on probation with an ankle monitor for second-degree burglary. He was arraigned in Albany County District Court and remains in the Albany County Jail. Tune was arraigned in Cohoes County District Court and released with a future court date.
