Russia reports one dead and dozens injured in tram accident in Siberia

One person died and dozens were injured, including five children, when two trams collided in the Siberian city of Kemerovo in Russia, the regional health ministry said on Thursday.

“90 people were injured, including five children,” he said.

According to images published in Russian media, a tram appeared to lose control while descending a hill and collide with another that was waiting at a stop to pick up passengers.

Kemerovo is a city with around 540,000 inhabitants in western Siberia, in the important coal mining region of Kuzbass.
