Lil Skies arrested after car crash in Pennsylvania

Authorities arrested Lil Skies for fleeing the scene of a car crash in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. According to Chambersburg police, the 25-year-old rapper was arrested on May 20.

Lil Skies, whose real name is Kimetrius Foose, allegedly failed to provide his information to the other driver involved in the accident and was charged with damaging an attended vehicle.

About a month before his arrest, Lil Skies spoke to AllHipHop about fatherhood and his return to the independent scene.

“Me being there in person is more important than the money,” Lil Skies said of his son. “That’s the most important thing to me because I can’t get that back. The money, whatever it is, will be what it is. I can’t let that dictate my happiness or that of my son. So I try to have that time and be proactive with it. I’ve been like that since I had him, since he was born. It’s natural now, it’s part of my life.”

Lil Skies also reflected on his time at Atlantic Records.

“I definitely went through a lot, it’s not easy,” he told AllHipHop. “I signed a deal with a label, so there’s a lot of paperwork, lawyers. Back and forth, all that. But it’s done. Luckily, I got signed to the label, and it did me good. My shit was selling, I had good business. I had to pay back all that damn bread, that’s the good thing about it. But I learned everything. I’m still learning. A lot of people look at me like I have the answers to this shit. I really don’t, I’m learning like everybody else. I’m still young too, I’m still trying to figure it out.”

Lil Skies is out Out Ur Body Music in March. It was his first solo project since leaving Atlantic.
