Daughter says her parents died in six-vehicle, semi-trailer crash in Dinwiddie

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A daughter is grieving after her parents were killed in a Accident involving six vehicles, involving a semi-trailer in Dinwiddie County on Friday.

According to authorities, Virginia State Police responded to a six-vehicle crash around 7:45 a.m. on Friday, May 31, that killed two people and injured several others on Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie County.


Two of the crash victims were flown by MedFlight to a nearby medical center, and two others were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Kristan Reeves of Florida said she had met with her parents, Bobby and Aimee Bass, for a family graduation the day before. The next morning, she received an SOS alert that her parents had been involved in an accident, sending Reeves and her siblings into turmoil.

“I was screaming, my husband was grabbing me, I could barely breathe,” Reeves said. “We were all just trying to find answers. My siblings were up in Virginia and started driving to every hospital we were assigned.”

Reeves said her parents meant everything to her and she couldn’t imagine how her family could cope with this tragic loss.

“They were genuine and kind-hearted people,” Reeves said. “They just celebrated their anniversary. They were together for almost 26 years. They loved us unconditionally.”

Reeves said she will continue to honor her parents’ legacy and pass on what they meant to her.

“I feel them, I feel their strength,” Reeves said. “We will celebrate their lives and take care of our family as they would expect us to.”

Virginia State Police have not yet identified or investigated the victims or the cause of the accident.
