Silver Alert issued for missing Laurel man

MBI has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Laurel man named James Earl Mathis.

He is 56 years old, 1.73 m tall and weighs 120 kg. He has grey hair and light brown eyes.

Mr. Mathis was last seen driving a vehicle in the 1000 block of West Drive in Jones County at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28.

He was last seen wearing a navy blue security uniform shirt, navy blue pants and brown steel-toed boots.

Mr. Mathis is said to be in a black 2020 Chevrolet Colorado with Mississippi license plate 2195M.

Family members say he suffers from an illness that may impair his judgment.
