One dead in Memorial Day traffic accident in Adams County

A woman was killed in a Memorial Day traffic accident in Adams County on Monday.

Pennsylvania State Police in Gettysburg continue to investigate a Memorial Day traffic crash in which a woman died but the small child in her vehicle appeared to be uninjured.

There were not many further details, but in an initial press release, police said the accident occurred at the intersection of Old Harrisburg Road and Stone Jug Road in Straban Township shortly before 7 p.m.; a pickup truck pulling a horse trailer and a Chevrolet sedan were involved.

Police said one of the drivers, Brianna Michelle Lucas, was pronounced dead at the scene, although preliminary reports did not indicate which vehicle Lucas was driving. The toddler in Lucas’ vehicle was taken to Hershey Medical Center for evaluation but did not appear to be injured, police said.

The second driver was not injured, police said.
