Woman killed, infant flown to hospital after Memorial Day accident in Adams County

ADAMS COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) – A woman was killed and a toddler was flown to the hospital in a plane crash in Adams County on Memorial Day, according to police.

Brianna Lucas was killed in the crash, which occurred shortly before 7 p.m. at the intersection of Old Harrisburg Road and Stone Jug Road in Straban Township, state police in Gettysburg said in an accident report. A pickup truck pulling a horse trailer and a Chevrolet sedan were involved.


Lucas was pronounced dead when emergency responders arrived at the scene, troopers say, while the toddler, who was conscious, appeared unharmed but was flown to Hershey Medical Center for further evaluation. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Police did not say what vehicle Lucas was driving or whether he was wearing a seatbelt. The accident is currently under investigation.

The Gettysburg and Biglerville fire departments and Adams County EMS assisted at the scene.
