Uber driver stabbed in carjacking in Madison, suspect arrested in Racine

Madison police arrested Rodgers on attempted murder charges.

A report of a stolen vehicle led Racine County sheriff’s deputies on a chase along Interstate 94 Monday evening. The car was stolen in the city of Madison after the suspect, 22-year-old Antonio Rodgers, reportedly hit an Uber multiple times driver had stabbed, resulting in life-threatening injuries. Rodgers drove over 120 miles per hour to elude officers, and even after his spike strip tires were deflated, he continued driving at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Once the vehicle’s speed was reduced due to the tire damage, officers were able to immobilize the car and take Rodgers into custody. Rodgers was transported to the Racine County Jail where he was held on $135,000 bail on the following charges: First Degree Reckless Endangering Safety – four counts, Fleeing and Eluding, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without the Owner’s Consent. Madison police later ordered Rodgers held on attempted murder charges.

Rodgers was taken to the Racine County Jail where he was held on $135,000 bail on the following charges:

  • First Degree Reckless Endangering Safety – four counts
  • Flight and escape
  • Driving a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent

Madison police later arrested Rodgers on attempted murder charges.
