Shootout between Sheetz and Fayetteville police sparks investigation

RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) — Fayetteville police are investigating a shooting Sunday evening at a gas station on Raeford Road.

The department said officers were called to the Sheetz gas station at 6410 Raeford Road in connection with the shooting on Sunday.

When officers arrived, they found a person with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Cape Fear Hospital. Police did not release any further information on the victim’s condition or possible suspects.

The investigation is still ongoing.
