Man arrested for throwing a Molotov cocktail at a neighbor’s home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested for throwing a Molotov cocktail at a neighbor’s home before barricading himself inside for hours.

Murfreesboro police said the incident began around 4 p.m. on Monday, May 20, at a home on Evanback Court.


According to investigators, 38-year-old Domonique Merriweather allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at a neighbor’s home and then attacked two other neighbors before barricading himself inside a home.

When officers arrived at the home, they found a package wrapped in duct tape on the porch and backed away as a precaution.

Authorities eventually used tear gas to force Merriweather to leave the house.

Police said Merriweather walked out of the house with his hands up just before 8 p.m. He was arrested and is currently being held at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.

Merriweather faces multiple charges, including reckless endangerment, and additional charges are pending.
