The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live joins Sky as part of a wide-ranging AMC pact

Sky has a deal with AMC Networks to make this possible Walking dead Universe to the UK pay-TV service. The deal covers the UK debut of The Walking Dead: Those Who Livewhich was released in the US earlier this year and reunites the departed main cast Rick and Michonne characters Walking dead show. The spin-off series starts on May 31st on Sky and the streaming service Now, while all eleven seasons of The walking dead Starts on Sunday (May 19th). More franchise spin-offs The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon And The Walking Dead: Dead City will join the platform later this year. The walking dead has had several homes in the UK including on Fox and Channel 5. This is the first time it has been available exclusively on Sky. The deal comes ahead of LA screenings next week. “We are pleased to have found a new home The walking dead universe in the United Kingdom,” said Mike Pears, executive vice president of distribution and content sales at AMC Network. “As we embark on an exciting new chapter in the evolution of this franchise with three new, highly anticipated, character-driven series, Sky is the perfect premium home for UK viewers to enjoy it all Walking dead. “The Walking Dead: Those Who Live is the most successful series in AMC+ history, even including the original series, so it is fitting that it will lead the way as Sky brings this entire universe to UK fans on Sky and Now in the coming weeks and months.”

Asif Kapadia is celebrated at the Muslim International Film Festival

Amy And Senna Director Asif Kapadia will receive the inaugural Trailblazer Award at the inaugural Muslim International Film Festival (MIFF) in the UK later this month. The Oscar, Grammy and four-time BAFTA-winning director, writer and producer is honored for supporting new filmmakers and talent and contributions to the film industry. He was nominated for three BAFTAs for his first feature film. The warriorwhich was shot in India, before his fourth film, Senna, won the Best Documentary and Best Editing categories, becoming the highest-grossing British documentary of all time at the time. His documentary about the late musician Amy Winehouse achieved the best opening weekend for a documentary in the UK in 2015 and won numerous awards. Kapadia will receive the MIFF Prize during the festival’s opening gala in London for the premiere of Kamal Lazaraqs dogs on May 30 at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square, followed by a rooftop reception at the LSQ. “It is a great honor to receive the Trailblazer Award from the Muslim International Film Festival,” he said. “It is important to show that people of all faiths and backgrounds can be successful and that there should never be limits to what we can say, create or express through our art.”

“‘Kneecap’ opens 36th Galway film Fleadh”

kneecap, the drama about a trio of Irish-speaking rappers starring Michael Fassbender, opens the 36th Galway Film Fleadh, taking place in Ireland from July 9th to 14th at the Town Hall Theater and Pálás Cinema. Based on the origin story of the riotous rap group that gives the film its name, band members Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí star in their acting debuts alongside Oscar-nominated Fassbender. Set in Belfast in 2019, it tells how fate brought the trio together. At the same time, Palestine was named a priority country for the Galway Film Festival. Program director Maeve McGrath said the decision showed “support and solidarity” for the Palestinian people as the bloody Israel-Hamas conflict continues. Full program details for the Galway Film Fleadh will be announced on June 25th.

Film and television charity launches diversity grants program

The Film and TV Charity has launched a strategic program to support mid-level and global majority black people working in film, television and cinema, as well as production companies and industry organizations led by people from these backgrounds. Reel Impact will seek to address the impact of systemic racism in the industry, create greater opportunities, and support and develop the careers of underrepresented talent. A first round will offer grants of up to £10,000 ($12,500) for individuals and £25,000 for companies and organizations. A second part of the program aims to develop partnerships with organizations that can support black and global majority professionals and creatives access to skills and leadership development, networking and career development. Grant applicants must demonstrate how the funds will benefit black and global majority projects in the UK. The funding will be awarded in three rounds over a two-year period, with the first round running from today (May 13) to June 30. The first grants will be awarded in September, with further rounds expected in November this year and September 2025. “The grant element is designed to respond to the specific needs of applicants and not be overwhelmingly prescriptive – so as we begin our campaign we would like to encourage everyone in the film, TV and cinema industries to help us spread the word across their networks said Marcus Ryder, CEO of the Film and TV Charity.

Britain’s Caravan Working on PBS Vampire Myth Doc

PBS has ordered a documentary about the beginnings of the vampire myth from British indie producer Caravan. Field of Vampireswhich will be for PBS Secrets of the Dead Strand uses exclusive access to archaeological finds throughout Eastern, Central and Western Europe and the United States to explore ritual burial sites of individuals suspected of vampiric behavior and to discover why certain dead were identified as vampires. Abacus Media Rights has committed to international distribution and is already finalizing pre-sales with A+E Networks EMEA for Sky History in the UK, The History Channel in Poland and SVT in Sweden. Steven Perring is a producer and director. Executive producer is Caravan CEO Dinah Lord and production manager is Johann Insanally. Samuel Mundell is assistant producer. Stephanie Carter is an executive producer for Secrets of the dead.
