Mother, 35, is beaten to death after neighborhood dogs attacked her and her two young children, leaving her son also seriously injured

A mother was found dead while her two children were left injured after a pack of dogs brutally attacked them, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

The pack of dogs reportedly attacked the children Thursday as they waited at a bus stop behind Brooks County Middle School. They were taken to hospital after the alleged attacks.

Courtney Williams, the 35-year-old mother of two, was found dead in the yard of a nearby residence that is currently being investigated by the GBI.

A GBI statement said: “When officers arrived, they encountered several aggressive dogs on the property.”

“It was determined that the juveniles had already been transported to a local hospital by a private individual.

“Officers subsequently found the body of Courtney Williams, a white female, 35 years old, in the courtyard of the residence.”

A neighbor, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told WALB that her condolences were with the family as the mother’s death occurred just days before Mother’s Day.

“I feel for the family and the children because now they have to celebrate Mother’s Day without their mother,” she said.

Residents have expressed concern about the lack of animal control in their area.

“Dogs are being abandoned all over the county and no one can get help with them because there is no animal control in the county.” I’m praying for this woman’s family. “This is so sad,” said one resident.

The case is currently under investigation by the GBI, which is currently conducting an autopsy on Williams to determine an official cause of death.

Williams’ sister-in-law Crystal Cox shared a heartfelt tribute to her brother’s wife in a Facebook post.

“It is with a heavy heart that I have to say this,” she began the post. “My brother’s wife, Courtney Williams Cox, passed away yesterday. The neighbors’ dogs attacked her and the children.

“Her son Kayden didn’t get away fast enough when he pushed his sister out of harm’s way.” He was injured pretty badly (but he’s fine).

“They pinned him. (He) is in pain and resting at my house. “We ask that you limit calls and messages if you are not an immediate family member.”

In another Facebook post on Friday, Cox informed the community about the children’s health and the exact course of events. She mentioned that three children were involved.

According to the post, Kayden’s sister, who she referred to as “sissy,” and his brother Nathan are shaken but are processing the traumatic event that followed.

Nathan managed to flag down a man who helped save them. Kayden pushed his sister out of harm’s way, saving her, but took on the dogs himself.

The man helped fight off the dogs and managed to get the children into his truck and take them to the hospital.
