Police are investigating a potentially fatal liposuction procedure at the Massachusetts home

An illegal at-home liposuction procedure at a home in Somerville, Massachusetts, has been investigated by police after there was a death that may be related to the surgery. Authorities said the operation took place at a home in Somerville and the person was taken to the hospital after returning to Everett. Outside the Somerville home, a photo taken by a neighbor showed investigators apparently collecting a large amount of bloody gauze from a trash can. Investigators say paramedics arrived at the Everett home late Thursday night, worrying neighbors. “It was pretty loud, a lot of confusion, and then we heard ‘Patient unresponsive,'” said a neighbor who did not want to be identified. Police said the person was taken to the hospital and they are investigating whether he had just returned from an illegal liposuction procedure at a home in Somerville. Neighbors say police spent hours at the Somerville home and are now waiting for more details about what may have happened inside. “It’s terrible. It’s sad,” said Sabrina Cavaleri. “I don’t even know who would trust someone to do that from home.”
