Father dead, son arrested after shooting in Kettering – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

KETTERING – A father is dead and his son is in custody after a shooting Friday in Kettering.

As reported on News Center 7 at 5 p.m., Around 3:30 p.m., Kettering police and paramedics were called to a home in the 2700 block of Haig Avenue for reports of a shooting, according to a Kettering police spokesman.

According to a media release, a caller told police that a son had shot his father in the house.

The son, identified as Justin Scott August, was arrested immediately upon police arrival at the scene and taken to Kettering Prison.

The father was pronounced dead at the scene.

August is initially charged with negligent homicide.
