According to police, a fourth suspect was arrested after he shot and killed a three-year-old Athens man

ATHENS, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A fourth arrest has been made in connection with the shooting death of a 3-year-old from Athens, according to Athens-Clarke County Police.

Police said Dakious Echols was arrested in Brooklyn, New York. Echols was wanted in connection with the March 8 death of three-year-old Kyron Zarco. Zarco was killed in a shooting at Hallmark Mobile Home Park on Spring Valley Road that also left another child injured. This child survived.

Echols was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated murder, four counts of aggravated assault and violating the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act. He also faces federal charges of illegal escape.

Three other people were previously arrested in connection with Zarco’s death.

Echols is currently awaiting extradition.
