Suspects arrested in King City mass shooting, double murder in southern Monterey County – Monterey Herald

Three suspects were arrested and will be charged Friday in the King City mass shooting case, which is also linked to a deadly shooting near Soledad and an armed robbery in Salinas.

In a press conference Friday morning, police officials announced the arrests and cited the cooperation of multiple agencies in the region.

Jonathan Leal Cervantes, 18, and Pedro Manuel Nava, 22, were both scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon. The third suspect, a juvenile, was scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning. All three suspects are from Greenfield.

On March 3, a group of men opened fire at an outdoor birthday party in the 200 block of 2nd Street in King City, killing four people and wounding seven. Two of the survivors were in critical condition at the time of the shooting. About a month earlier, two cousins ​​were fatally shot on Los Coches Road, just outside Soledad.

There is evidence linking the two shootings, which are said to be gang-related. In Friday’s press conference, law enforcement also mentioned a possible connection to an armed robbery in Salinas.
