Heatwave: District administration orders suspension of classes up to primary level in Kashmir schools on July 29 and 30.

Srinagar, July 28: Due to the ongoing heat wave, the Kashmir district administration on Sunday ordered suspension of classes for students up to primary level in public and private schools on July 29 and 30.

However, in an official order issued by the District Commissioner of Kashmir, VK Bidhuri, said that the teaching staff of these schools must continue to perform their duties.

According to news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Bidhuri said in an order, “In view of the ongoing heat wave in the valley, classes for students up to primary level in both public and recognized private schools will remain suspended on July 29 and 30, 2024.”

“However, all teaching and non-teaching staff will continue to perform their duties as usual,” it says.
