‘Mama Bear’ Kim Pegula Speaks at Bills Training Camp

Members of the Buffalo Bills organization at all levels often champion the team’s family atmosphere, and the club put that camaraderie on full display Friday afternoon as co-owner Kim Pegula broke down the team’s group following its third practice of training camp.

Pegula had been present alongside her husband, Terry, for the first three days of camp, not taking the field until Friday. Pegula suffered a cardiac arrest and subsequent brain injury in June 2022 and was forced to relinquish her responsibilities with the team; she had previously served as president of the NHL’s Buffalo Bills and Sabres.

Buffalo’s team was thrilled to see Pegula rally around them to close out the drive. Quarterback Josh Allen reflected on the moment, saying, “It’s the least we can do, rally around her,” and that he was “glad to have her back on the field.”

The stalwart left tackle also spoke about Pegula, calling her the team’s “mama bear” while saying it’s been incredible to see her progress in her recovery.

Life has been turned upside down for the Pegula family over the past two years, and it’s refreshing to see some normalcy returning with Kim’s return to training camp.
