(Video) Brilliant commentary from Liverpool goalkeeping coach Jordan Pickford after penalty incident

Jordan Pickford doesn’t have many fans on the red side of Merseyside and it seems that this fan base is not limited to the supporters, as the new comments will certainly raise a smile.

In the “Football Historian Podcast,” John Achterberg talked about tactics for defending penalties: “We don’t have incredibly long meetings, they last about 20 minutes, but then you look at the set pieces, penalties, free kicks, how we can play from the back, where, when, how we counterattack, what the strikers are doing, what the opponent is doing, how they play.”

“Then you try to organize some training sessions for them to prepare the goalkeeper for what is going to happen in the game. So yes, the penalties are one side, but we do it differently, we don’t send out a water bottle to tell the whole world what we are doing.”

This conversation came up after the Everton goalkeeper’s water bottle was shown before England’s penalty shootout and our former goalkeeping coach was clearly not a fan of it.

This is probably a sign that our stoppers can retain information, something the Sunderland-born goalkeeper does not quite manage.
