1 dead after tree falls on house in Charlotte

Charlotte firefighters said they recovered a body early Monday, July 22, after a tree fell on a three-story building.

The Charlotte Fire Department said over a dozen emergency responders responded to the 2700 block of Commonwealth Avenue just before 2 a.m. Within minutes, firefighters rescued one person from a third-floor apartment.
