NOIDA: In a shocking incident in Noida, a mob at Pan Oasis residential community in Sector 70 allegedly attacked a young couple who were feeding and caring for stray dogs in the area.

The incident, which took place on May 2, was sparked after one of the stray dogs attacked a six-year-old girl on the club’s premises. The young girl reportedly suffered serious injuries, but her condition stabilized later that day.

According to the Economic Times, following the incident, residents of the association protested against the presence of dog feeding stations in the community. They immediately sought help from the local police to deal with the situation.

However, as the situation escalated, Shubham and Sankalita, a young couple who feed dogs, found themselves targeted by an angry mob. The angry crowd not only confronted the couple but also physically attacked police officers at the scene.

People For Animals (PFA) shared disturbing footage of the chaotic incident on its official X account and strongly condemned the mob’s violent actions.

In their post, they wrote, “A violent mob in Pan Oasis, Sector 70 Noida flouted the law when they attacked a young couple feeding and caring for community dogs. Even the police were pushed around and attacked. Immediate action is requested against the rioters.”

PFA India added that the handlers who took responsibility for sterilizing and vaccinating the dogs were not only physically attacked but also verbally assaulted and threatened with their lives, according to the Economic Times.

People For Animals (PFA) reported that its handlers, who are responsible for sterilizing and vaccinating dogs, were subjected to physical attacks, verbal abuse and even death threats while carrying out their duties.

According to the couple’s account, the angry mob even went so far as to push an on-duty police officer. They even tried to disable the surveillance cameras in the area. According to Shubham, one of the mob tried to forcibly snatch the phone from his wife while she was documenting the incident, which resulted in injury to her. He further explained that his friends who came to support the couple were also subjected to physical violence, with the mob tearing at their clothes in the videos circulated.

In another video that focuses on dogs that currently exist in society. Staff further warn that any security guard found to be sitting idle while a dog is nearby will be immediately dismissed from their post.

According to reports, an official complaint has been lodged but no FIR has been registered yet in connection with the incident.
