Rumor has it Caleb Williams is “really excited” about the Bears’ NFL offense

Caleb Williams feels ready for the start of his rookie season.

At a performance on sport CenterESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said Williams is “really excited” about the Chicago Bears’ offense for the 2024 season:

“(Sources) said you can feel and see early on how much talent he has. It’s tremendous how he throws the ball, how smooth he moves in the pocket. The key is the NFL’s transition to their system with play-action and movement under center. It’s just going to take time after what he went through at USC. But I’m told Williams is really excited about the pro offense. He’s been working in the Bears’ system since early April before the draft, trying to learn the footwork and the nuances of everything. And so that’s going to be a big focus in training camp, but they expect him to learn it quickly.”

The Bears selected Williams with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and he has great potential. He threw for 10,082 yards with 93 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in three college seasons and won the 2022 Heisman Trophy for his strong play at USC.

He joins a Bears team that passed on drafting a first-round quarterback in the 2023 NFL Draft, but couldn’t pass up the chance to get Williams in 2024. The foundation in Chicago is solid, as the team went 7-10 and only acquired the No. 1 pick through the 2023 trade with the Carolina Panthers that sent that year’s No. 1 pick to Carolina.

Williams has a receiver corps that includes DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, who will be selected No. 9 in 2024. This arsenal of talent should help Williams in his first season as a pro if he wants to lead the Bears back to the postseason.
