A pedestrian was shot Thursday, May 9, after authorities received a report that two vehicles had struck the pedestrian in Victorville, San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department officials said.

Sheriff’s deputies responded Thursday to a report that a pedestrian had been struck by two vehicles near Mariposa Road and Locust Avenue in Victorville. Upon arrival, officers contacted the man. According to authorities, a “violent collision” occurred and the pedestrian was killed at the scene.

Details about why the pedestrian was shot and under what circumstances he was hit by two vehicles were not immediately known.

“The investigation is ongoing. Nothing more,” said Gloria Huerta, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s department.
