Granite City Police Investigate Incident in Burger King Parking Lot

GRANITE CITY, Illinois (KMOX) – Granite City Police are investigating a shooting incident after a suspect shot at a victim’s car in the parking lot of a Burger King.

According to police, the incident occurred on Tuesday, July 16. Officers responded to a call reporting shots fired at the Burger King at 3406 Nameoki Road at around 6:16 p.m.

The victim and several witnesses told officers that the suspect appeared to be involved in an incident of DUI. The suspect pursued the victim in his car into the Burger King parking lot and fired at least once at the victim’s vehicle.

According to Granite City police, no one was hit and no injuries were reported.

The suspect fled the area in his vehicle and the case remains under investigation. Granite City Police say this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat of a repeat.
