Police shoot suspect outside Arco station in Huntington Beach – Orange County Register

Huntington Beach police shot and killed a man outside an Arco gas station at the corner of Goldenwest Street and Heil Avenue on Tuesday evening, July 16, authorities said.

According to Huntington Beach police, officers were dispatched to the intersection around 11 p.m. Tuesday to respond to a “call for service.”

“Officers came into contact with an adult male and an officer-involved shooting occurred,” police said in a statement. “The man was transported to a local hospital where he is currently being treated. Neither officers nor bystanders were injured.”

Information about the man’s condition or identity was not initially available.

“The investigation into this incident is ongoing and no further details will be released at this time,” police said. “As is required in any shooting involving an HBPD officer, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department is conducting the investigation.”
