New York State Police arrest Albany drug dealer after lengthy investigation

New York State Police arrested Tylan M. Houze, 26, of Albany on July 10 following a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking in the Albany area and surrounding counties.

According to authorities, approximately 96 grams of cocaine, 56 grams of crack cocaine, 77 grams of fentanyl and over $10,000 were found on Houze.

Houze was accused of the following:

  • Two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • Four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • One count of third-degree fleeing from an officer in a motor vehicle
  • Obstruction of government administration

Police were executing an Albany County District Court search warrant when Houze attempted to flee in a 2016 Acura TL.

Houze was arrested shortly after the vehicle crash near Morton Avenue in Albany, state police said.

The arrest was made by the New York State Police Troop K Violent Gang and Drug Enforcement Team in cooperation with Troops K and G Community Stabilization Units, Troop K Major Crimes Unit, Albany Police Department, and the New York State Police Electronic Surveillance Unit.
