Minor girl kidnapped and raped in Bihar’s Gaya

Patna, July 7 A minor girl was abducted in Bihar’s Gaya district and then allegedly raped by three persons, a police official said.

Gaya police said one of the accused in the case has been arrested while two others are still absconding.

The incident took place in a village under the Imamganj police station of the district. The girl was abducted from her home on the night of July 1. She was taken to a brick kiln where she was gang-raped.

The victim was raped continuously for three days. She was released on July 4 after being threatened with dire consequences.

The girl came home. At first she remained silent for a day, but then she finally told her mother about her ordeal. The victim’s family contacted the local police and filed a complaint on Saturday evening.

The accused allegedly tried to urge the victim’s family not to go to the police, but the police reached the Imamganj police station and filed a complaint against the family.

As soon as the incident came to light, the Imamganj police raided several places and arrested the main accused Pappu Singh.

“Pappu Singh was arrested from Sikaria area under Rampur police station in Gaya town and confessed to the crime,” said Amit Kumar, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Imamganj area in Gaya district.

The police are searching for the other two defendants.
