TTC employee attacked in alleged hate-motivated incident

A TTC employee was attacked earlier this week and the incident is being investigated as possibly hate-motivated, Toronto police said.

In a press release issued Saturday, police said officers were called to Wilson Station on July 2 for a report of an assault.

According to police, a TTC employee was attacked by the suspect, who allegedly poured alcohol on the victim and made threats while using derogatory language and racial slurs against South Asians.

The victim and the TTC employee do not know each other and it is unclear what prompted the alleged attack.

In an effort to determine the suspects’ identities, photos of the suspects have been released. Police describe her as a woman between 5’0″ and 5’3″ tall, with a stocky build and shoulder-length dark brown hair.

According to police, the suspect was accompanied by an unidentified man at the time of the incident.

Police are asking anyone with information about the alleged attack to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-808-3500.
