Father stabbed five times for stopping his son from raping his niece – The Southern Eye

A 26-year-old man from Pumula South in Bulawayo has been sentenced to five years in prison for stabbing his biological father five times after his father stopped him from raping his niece.

The man appeared before the Western Comorage Court on charges of attempted murder.

According to information provided by the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) on 23 March this year, the man attempted to rape his cousin, the plaintiff’s niece.

The court heard that the niece sought refuge in the plaintiff’s bedroom in an attempt to save herself.

The man followed his niece into his father’s bedroom with a kitchen knife in his hand.

The NPAZ said that when his father tried to restrain him from attacking his niece, the man attacked her and stabbed her five times.

The father fled and sought help from his neighbor.

A report was filed with the police and the man was subsequently arrested.
