Firefighters called to three-car accident in Athol

ATHOL, Mass. (WWLP) – Firefighters were called to a three-car crash in Athol on Tuesday that required the use of rescue shears to rescue two occupants.

According to the Athol Fire Department, emergency crews were dispatched to a three-vehicle crash at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday. When crews arrived, a vehicle with two passengers was found lying on its side on the guardrail.


The rescue teams used rescue shears to free the two people trapped in the vehicle.

Both passengers were taken to Athol Hospital for examination. There is no information about their current condition or the exact location of the accident.
