Three dead in shooting at Georgia home, police investigate possible murder and suicide

Three people were killed in a suspected murder-suicide in Coweta County, Georgia, on Saturday, authorities said.

Officers responding to several 911 calls shortly after 1 a.m. found two bodies in the driveway and one in the doorway of a home on Crabapple Court, the county sheriff’s office said.

When officers arrived, a fourth person ran into the apartment and a shot was fired, the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office said in a Post on X.

A SWAT team secured the area and police later found the body of the fourth person inside the home, the sheriff’s office said. The office is investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.

The identities of the dead were not immediately released pending notification of their families.

A neighbor told NBC affiliate WXIA in Atlanta that she heard a loud noise around 12:30 a.m. that she initially thought was thunder. “I live right around the corner,” Brandi Wright told the station. “It’s just crazy. You can’t even be safe in your own home anymore.”

The Coweta Sheriff’s Office said it will provide additional information as the investigation progresses.
